Is Timeaway the same as Cadence time off?
Cadence Advanced includes light time-off on its calendar. Timeaway is the dedicated leave app — balances, policies, on-call, deliverables, heatmap, and approvals built for HR-grade PTO.
Does Timeaway log hours?
No. That is WorkPulse. Timeaway records explicit leave requests and availability only.
What does admin setup require?
A Jira site admin does the one-time work: install Timeaway, create or reuse the Jira lead group (e.g. Workpulse Team Leads), and add managers to that Jira group. After that, those leads run teams, leave types, and approvals without site admin for day-to-day work. See Get started.
Can team leads add people to the Jira lead group?
No. Creating the Jira group, ensuring it exists, and adding or removing lead-group members is site-admin only. Team leads manage Timeaway teams and org-wide leave settings once they are already in the group.
Can I swap on-call without email?
Yes. Request a day or week handoff in On-call — cover person accepts, then the lead approves.
