Configuration overview

Global configuration is done in the Classifier admin console, linked from Administration → Manage apps → Configure.

Admin sections

Section Purpose
Data Classification Levels, compartments, releases, templates, rollup rules
Restriction Approach Most restrictive vs selective; permission options
License Entitlement status

Space-specific settings are under Space tools → Classifier (see Space settings).

Recommended configuration order

  1. Classification values — levels, compartments, release-to
  2. Rollup rules — banner format, colors, group naming
  3. Confluence groups — create groups matching naming rules
  4. Restriction approach — choose how access is enforced
  5. Space settings — only if you need program-style spaces

Save configuration after each major change. Imported JSON should be reviewed before applying in production.

Configuration storage

Settings are stored in Confluence (Bandana / plugin settings). They apply instance-wide unless overridden by space configuration.
