Classifier for Confluence adds data classification markings to Confluence pages and ties those markings to Confluence group permissions.
This guide walks you from installation through configuration to day-to-day use — for Confluence administrators, space admins, and authors.

How Classifier fits Confluence
- Authors mark content inline (text, images, blocks) or confirm a page-level banner on save.
- Classifier calculates the strictest classification on the page (the rollup) and displays it as the page banner.
- Confluence page restrictions are updated so the matching classification group (and configured grantees) control View and Edit.
Classifier does not replace Confluence permissions — it sets page restrictions based on classification.
