Space settings
Space-level configuration is optional. Use it when a program or mission space needs tighter classification policy than the rest of Confluence.
Open Space tools → Classifier → Configuration (as a space administrator).
Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Classification restricted | Enables program-style enforcement; disables selective viewing in this space |
| Default classification | Applied to pages with no valid marking; lazy backfill on first access |
| Allowed classifications | Only listed markings participate in rollup |
| Space group prefix | Prepended to group names for this space only |
When to enable classification restriction
Enable only when:
- Every page in the space must meet a minimum classification baseline.
- Users must satisfy space access AND classification group (AND rule).
- Selective paragraph viewing is not desired in this space.
Leave off for normal collaboration spaces that use selective restriction.
Default classification
If enabled with a default (for example Secret//SAP//REL TO USA):
- New or empty pages may receive the default banner on first view.
- Permissions are updated to match the default group.
Allowed list
Rollup ignores classifications not on the allowed list. On save, out-of-policy markings may be clamped to the default or allowed set.
Group validation
The space config UI can validate that groups referenced by space settings exist, including prefixed names.
